- Arrive at Gilimanuk Harbor and board the ferry for a scenic crossing to Ketapang Port in East Java (approx. 1 hour).
2. Midnight Arrival & Preparation for the Hike
- Arrive at Paltuding Basecamp, the starting point of your Ijen Crater trek. Get ready with safety gear and a short briefing from your professional guide.
3. Early Morning Hike to Ijen Crater
- Begin a 3-kilometer (1.8 miles) hike through lush forest trails and volcanic landscapes. The trek takes around 2 hours and offers a serene night-time atmosphere.
- Reach the crater rim and be amazed by the majestic turquoise - colored acidic lake, surrounded by dramatic volcanic cliffs.
- Witness a breathtaking sunrise over the crater, illuminating the surreal landscape with golden hues.
4. Discover Traditional Sulfur Mining
- Observe the local sulfur miners as they carry heavy loads of bright yellow sulfur from the crater floor, using traditional methods that have been passed down for generations. Learn about their challenging work and unique way of life.
- Begin your descent back to Paltuding Basecamp, enjoying the fresh mountain air and scenic views.
5. Local Breakfast and Return to Bali
- After the hike, enjoy a delicious Indonesian breakfast at a local restaurant in Banyuwangi. Relax and savor traditional flavors after your adventure.
- Transfer back to Ketapang Harbor for the ferry ride to Bali.
- Upon arrival in Bali, we’ll drive you back to your hotel.
